Literary conversation on ‘What poets want’ by Dr. Azra Raza

The School of Economics and Social Sciences organized an online literary conversation on ‘What poets want’ featuring a seasoned medical professional & author, Dr. Azra Raza, for IBA students, faculty and staff. Dr Azra Raza is the Chan Soon-Shiong Professor of Medicine and Director of the MDS Center at Columbia University. She is the author of ‘The First Cell and the Human Costs of Pursuing Cancer to the Last’ and ‘Ghalib: Epistemologies of Elegance’. Her life is devoted to the early detection and prevention of cancer. In addition to her scientific accomplishments, Dr. Raza is a dedicated reader of Urdu Literature. In the session, Dr. Azra shared her thoughts about how poets think and what they want to achieve through their poetry.
